In today’s world it is becoming increasingly important for women to understand their healthcare choices and what steps they can take to keep themselves healthy and strong. Whether you are taking some time off after high school, newly admitted or already enrolled in college, these sessions will teach you everything you need to know to take control of your reproductive health!

How to be a patient in today’s healthcare setting.

• When do I need my first pap?

• What questions should I ask when making an appointment?

• What should I expect and what is appropriate during a gynecologic exam?

Contraception

• What is an IUD and how does it work?

• What should I do if I miss a pill? 

• Are there any non-hormonal contraceptive options?

Reducing the Risk of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

• Do condoms protect me against all of the different types of STI’s?

• How do I know if I have an STI?

• Are there any risks to the HPV vaccine?
